Panther River, Ya Ha TInda - (Salt Licks) Alberta

There is something about the Alberta rivers that have this wonderful coolness that when you are near it, you can breathe it in and you feel so refreshed - without even a drink of water from it. We stayed at this camp site right near the Panther River. Apparently, the mountain goats come here to lick the rocks as they are full of natural sodium deposits. It was a warm wonderful summer day, the sky full of mostly cerulean blue but with a few fluffy clouds. The sound of the river was soothing and meditative. My daughter skipped rocks and chatted to me about all the colored pebbles she was finding. She wants to start painting with me next season! So I am looking forward to having a little painting buddy.
